Morning and After School Care Club
Our Lady of Lourdes Primary School and Nursery provides a very successful morning and after-school care club for nursery and primary school children. Our clubs have a maximum of 40 places and parents can book a day in advance if places are available. Southend Local Authority have commented favourably in regard to our wrap-around childcare. Staff on site have first aid and safeguarding training with the addition of key workers receiving food preparation/hygiene and training.
Please note that full payment is required in advance unless alternative arrangements have been pre-agreed with the Headteacher. The school manages all financial aspects of childcare payments and is unable to hold any accounts in arrears.
Children who have been unable to attend wrap-around care due to illness, medical appointment, or other exceptional circumstances (as agreed by the Headteacher) will have their session fee deducted. Please email the school office in good time if your child is unable to attend.
Our Wrap-Around Care Manager is Mrs Huggins with Mrs Ryan and Mrs Warry our Breakfast Club and After School Club Managers.
BREAKFAST CLUB
To support parents who have work commitments, there is a Breakfast Club from 7.15am every day until school starts. The cost of the club includes breakfast as well as childcare. Pupils also have the opportunity to participate in sporting and fitness activities. Parents need to book breakfast club in advance via MCAS to ensure there is a space for their child. Child Care Vouchers can be used. Please speak to the school office for details.
Our Lady of Lourdes is part of the pilot scheme for free breakfast club from 8.15 for all children from reception to year 6. The front entrance is open to welcome children from this time. It helps us to ensure we have the correct number of staff if you book for the free breakfast club too. Although we will continue to welcome you on the day if you have failed to book.
YR-Y6 from 7.15-8.15 cost £6 per child per day.
Nursery children are not entitled to free breakfast and so the cost per day is £8.00 and £12.00 (for 3-4-years old or 2-year olds)
Breakfast: A selection of low-sugar/salt cereals, fruit, toast and 'morning suitable' drinks are available for children.
AFTER-SCHOOL CLUB
To support parents who have work commitments, there is an after-school club which runs daily with the choice of booking 3 seasons as below:
3.15pm - 4.15pm without tea at a price of £5 Price for nursery children £7.00
4.15pm to 5.30pm with tea at a price of £9 (for children attending an extracurricular club)
3.15 to 5.30, including tea at a price of £12 Price for nursery children £16
You are required to register online via MCAS to secure your place. Child Care Vouchers can be used. Please speak to the school office for details.
Persistent Lateness
Persistent lateness at pick-up time will incur a daily charge. We do understand that on the odd occasion, 'things happen'. If any children are collected later than 4.15pm on the first session, then payment for the full session will be charged. Any children not collected at 5.30 will have a fine of £5 added to school money.
Primary school children also have the chance to book extracurricular clubs from 3.15 until 4.15. Details of these are released at the start of each term with a weekly fee of £3.00 if your child attends an additional club after school. I.e. football/choir, they are required to register with the after-school club supervisor before going to their club. They will then return to the after-school club for pickup.
Payment
Breakfast club and after-school club must be booked via MCAS in advance to ensure we have a space for your child. If you wish to use childcare vouchers, please email the school office with the sessions you need and the office staff will manually book these for you.
Please book your child's place by 12.30pm each Friday for the following week. Late bookings cannot be guaranteed. All bookings must be made through MCAS or the main school office.
Please note that we request 24 hours notice to cancel any breakfast or after-school clubs.
