As a school, we use ‘Letter Join’. At the start of their journey children will work on strengthening their motor skills though ‘squiggle while you wiggle’ and ‘dough disco’ before moving on to more formal handwriting lessons. Here are the letter join log in details which you can use at home:
Pupil login details
Username: eg2610
Password: home
Swipe code: A capital 'L' shape starting at top left (See image on the right).
The QR code will take you directly to the Letter Join site.
There are videos you can watch, worksheets and activities which the children can work through to practise their handwriting at home.
Useful websites
We encourage and develop the use of technology at OLOL as part of our curriculum offer. We use iPads and Chromebooks, and all children have their own Class Dojo portfolio and Google account to complete their work and log their progress.
As part of the children's learning, we cover the multi-facetted and ever changing elements of keeping safe online, but this is always a partnership with parents and carers at home.
Technology enhances learning, and we want to ensure pupils get the most from it, by encouraging responsible online behaviour.
In school, our firewall system prevents children from accessing inappropriate sites. At home, sometimes children can be given unsupervised access to the internet. This, potentially, allows them to access all kinds of sites, both age-appropriate and inappropriate. We would encourage all parents/carers to talk about online safety with their children. The majority of social media and chat sites (Facebook, TikTok etc.) have an age restriction of 13 years and over therefore our pupils should NOT be using these sites.
Please see the following websites for additional resources. External websites are not monitored or affiliated with the school.
