ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

All items of uniform should be named, this helps children and adults find their clothing.

  • Hijabs should be blue
  • No boots please – boots are heavier and we have a lot of traffic in school so we think it’s safer

Jewellery

  • Children Years 1-6 are permitted to wear watches – no smart watches please
  • Children are allowed to wear a simple cross and chain; and one set of simple stud earrings. No other jewellery is permitted. – Jewellery gets caught on clothing or by other children and can cause injuries. Items also can get lost in school.

Hair

  • All hair accessories must be the school colour of blue or brown or black. Elaborate hair bands and accessories are not acceptable. Long hair must be tied up for those activities in school where it may cause harm.
  • Hair should be a natural colour. Hair cannot be of two contrasting colours.
  • If beads are added to hair, no more than 3 beads should be added per strand. Beads should be blue, clear or white
  • Please remember that haircuts are an important part of your child's image. Lines and patterns are not acceptable for school and cuts should not be too short.

Make-up

  • Nail varnish and make-up are not allowed. Beauty products should not come into school.

Water Bottles – we ask that every child brings in a refillable water bottle that is named.

Why do we say no to toys in school?

All children want to play with a toy that is brought in. It may cause a problem between friends or it may get lost. We have a no toys policy please. Occasionally, teaching staff may agree to an item from home that allows a child to feel more comfortable but this will be arranged between teachers and parents.

If your child requires a fidget toy these will be provided by the school. Personal fidget toys are not permitted.

If you need to talk to us about our uniform policy, please contact us via the school office

PE UNIFORM

  • Blue Our Lady of Lourdes PE T-shirt with school logo
  • Blue shorts
  • Socks & trainers
  • Track Suit - a blue tracksuit is advised for the colder weather

Please ensure PE clothes are kept in a named drawstring bag. This kit will be kept in school.

ALL CLOTHING SHOULD BE MARKED WITH YOUR CHILD’S NAME (the school will not accept responsibility for lost articles of clothing).

From September we are asking that children in Year 1-6 wear their PE Kit to school on their PE Day. Please think about this when replacing uniforms this year. For the winter months children will need a tracksuit to keep them warm.
